Wine 4.3 has a new XAudio2 and X3DAudio implementation that should include
proper attenuation.

As far as Wine's concerned this should be RESOLVED FIXED, but FAudio's 3D math
may not be 100% accurate and the game uses xWMA extensively, and we can only
support that with special FAudio builds that link to FFmpeg.
