--- Comment #7 from Benoit Goudreault-Emond <benge42ca at yahoo.ca> ---
I can reproduce this problem reliably with Wine 4.0.

There's a workaround, but it's very annoying to do.

1. Instead of opening ADE directly, open Wine Explorer
2. Run winecfg from explorer.
3. In drives, find the drive letter for the Kobo. Select it, click Advanced...,
then select "Floppy", click Apply, OK.
4. Open ADE by navigating to its installation directory.

The Kobo will then be detected properly.

The fact that the Kobo is detected as a removable hard drive and that it
somehow makes ADE fail is not really a concern. What is a concern though is
that there doesn't seem to be a way to force mountmgr.sys to treat the Kobo as
a floppy despite editing this in winecfg. Closing Wine and restarting it seems
to wipe the settings out. Is there any way to make those settings persistent?
