There are many complains about that game being glitchy in hardware Direct3D
mode under Windows, so I'm inclined to think that the remaining issues are game
bugs/features. Software rendering mode is what most people use under Windows
and it disables lighting effects internally. It seems that Wine is better at
running this game than Windows.
