Confirming

It starts for me when I disable mountmgr.sys, but the whole window is black. 
And I guess it`s useless then because one has to attach a device (?)

( WINEDLLOVERRIDES=mountmgr.sys=d wine HX\ Edit.exe )

This might be relevant, but not sure if it`s cause of the crash:

0025:fixme:mountmgr:harddisk_ioctl The DISK_PARTITION_INFO and
DISK_DETECTION_INFO structures will not be filled
