That's true, although I don't know of any such external project (and the Wine
project might take offence to a 3rd part distributing a script also called
"wine" out of necessity...).

In any case, I have never relied on Wine shortcuts since bug 22974 has always
caused that to make a mess of everything. I regularly upgrade to the latest
Wine, and I always run winecfg first to manually clear out all the folder
shortcuts it creates since they are always reverted on upgrades (or downgrades
even).
