These aren't normal:

This may be expected with debian's wine, since they don't ship wine-gecko, but
winehq builds should have gecko support.

You shouldn't need to run as root, and as you've seen, it won't work if root
doesn't have a DISPLAY it can use.

By removing the WINEPREFIX, I mean:
$ rm -rf "$HOME/winedotnet"
