Hello, using wine-5.13 (Staging) on Archlinux I have a similar error. It
happens in both 32 bits or 64 bits wine arch, on two very different hardware
setup (one using an Intel I7 with integrated graphics and the other one using a
Ryzen 5 3600 along and AMD 570 graphic card). Both happen exactly after the
first cinematic, when pressing the left mouse button.

I also tried using stable latest wine, also using Steam own wine build, in all
cases, I always experience the same error.

If that matters, I'm using a crack exe because it wasn't properly recognising
the first CDRom (I'm doing it since a long time ago). From what I understood
and reading a lot of things over the internet, it happens with legit game exe
as well.

If that matters, a few years back, I was playing it using Wine (it was version
4.x I think, and even maybe 3.x) and managed to play the game fully, from the
beginning until the end, without experiencing any bugs.

Another weird behaviour, right after install, it works the very first time, I
managed to go through configuration menus, but one box, I managed to go to
display settings, they it hanged, on the other box, it hanged when I entered
the first menu. In both case, it always crash on startup after that.
