After asking some questions in SCP: Secret Laboratory Discord server I was told
that there are no virtual machine checks, but that it is an issue in
anti-reverse engineering protection because wine is missing one windows API
feature.
Apparently they are working with wine developers to fix it.

I also forgot to mention it's a free to play game on Steam.
