@OP: As for the black (sign-up) window: that is bug 44985.

I tried a few switches (after first winetricks arial), if I use (as extra
switch) --disable-gpu or --single-process the login-window shows just fine.

For long list of options to play with see ***, trying these all will keep you
busy for just another day ;) ;) ;)
