Well, as long as you have a separate renderer process containing
'--type=gpu-process' command line parameter the fallback didn't get activated
for whatever reasons hence the black screen is expected.

You need to wait a bit because there is a crash recovery mechanism at work that
tries to restart the gpu process several times.
After final try it gives up and the black surface will be gone.
