In retrospect, this might have to do with the feature detection Google is using
to limit embedded browsers from logging into Google accounts. 

JavaScript feature detection that assumes you're running Chrome sometimes
crashes Firefox on Linux for me, and I wouldn't be surprised if that is what's
happening here.
