Which I should have guessed in the first place, given the "unimplemented
function" crashes. Here's what bothers me:

(1) I never once saw a race or inconsistent behaviour;

(2) there's no reason this should be a regression (though comment 1 suggests it
isn't anyway).

Andrey, can you confirm whether the error message in comment 0 is the error
message you see on the first installation in a new prefix? And can you please
test the bug in current Wine?
