Installing arial indeed fixes this bug.
The UI now loads fine, never thought a missing font could make an app this
buggy.

There are some bugs only reproducable with cctv hardware like trying to
playback video footage (nothing is played), should I create a bug for that? I
don't think anyone else has such hardware.
