This problem also seems to affect dedicated server performance, where server
performance drops significantly with more players, unless network load is
reduced by limiting it in software. I found other racing games to have similar
issues with online multiplayer.
Currently I don't have a test setup to verify but I think I remember a second
process next to the rFactor process taking up significant CPU time when network
load goes up. This has been an issue since Wine 1.6 for me.
