Ah, and I've realised something else too. In the current test results, the
submitter mentions:

> I don't know why others say you have to install an alternate render... it might add something to the game but other than that vanilla works flawlessy out-of-the box and into the glass! Also I haven't noticed any problem with remembering key configuration.

It looks like they added D3D hardware acceleration in this version. In my copy
of the game, it does not have D3D acceleration, only Glide, hence, why you need
the Glide wrapper.

So, it appears that it's not just the installer that is newer.

I'll have a look into the differences between the two versions, when I get the
time.
