FWIW, here is the relevant link on Symantec Root CAs deprecation by MS:

It doesn't list - V5 certificate explicitly though, while (as I read it) states
that all Symantec Root CAs are to be deprecated.

I found that link through this one:

which also links other entities' announcements deprecating Symantec CAs, and
those mention G5 explicitly.
