I actually did manage find the patch for the windows 8 fix:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/L.A._Noire Found it here and applying it
seems to work! But now I'm having issues logging into the rockstar account in
game.

I try to click on the user sign in so I can type out my stuff, but I can't seem
to click anything. Gonna try a crack and see if this helps.
