Okay. So this issue is probably different from the "Anti-VM" thing...

Yes, the demo seems to work in my VM as well.

The hacks work to run it in a VM, but no under Wine.

Interesting. I have exact the same CPU and tried in a clean WINEPREFIX as well.
Still, crashes.

However, I'm on Arch Linux. The offical package crashes, but building from
source seems to work. I'll investigate that further.

Also, I tested with wine-staging 5.5 and 5.7, and this didn't work either.
Could you maybe double check if that fails for you as well? wine-staging 5.8
works though.
