As far as I could see, the DRM is usually querying this with an invalid length.
It seems harmless in general as the games either don't care about the returned
status, or are satisfied with any returned error. I've sent
https://source.winehq.org/patches/data/196211 to stub this a little more and
get rid of the warning message.
