Jeff, thanks for the immediate response.

The software which you used is perfect and correct.

However, it is not trivial to create the failure case. In particular on Ubuntu
it is tricky. On macOS Catalina (our main focus) it is very easy to run into
the freeze.

I have created gifs to demonstrate the faulty behaviour. Due to their size I
have not added them as attachments but made them available on our website to
download or view.

On macOS Catalina 10.15.7
