By trying to install all video related codecs using winetricks I change this
too...

run winetricks from terminal...
"select the default prefix" and then
"change settings" and then
check "ddr=opengl". done.
I do not know if this single change or the cumulative changes did the trick in
order to be able to watch the fmv video and not a black screen.

Another person here who had a similar problem was telling to install through
winetricks:

amstream
devenum
quartz
xvid
ffdshow
ps. you can run winetricks amstream devenum quartz xvid ffdshow

ps. in my case xvid did not registered with failed installation.

ps. I had a wine 64 prefix.

ps. i had install wine 6.1 in ubuntu 20
