There is a possibility that the card isn't detected because the software can't
connect to the network; maybe it's trying to get card profiles from a central
service?

There is a link to a possible fix for netprofm:connection_GetAdapterId() in
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49954 there is a possibility (maybe
slim) that your card may be detected if the application can talk to the
network.
