thanks for the confirmation. So it fails on Windows as well. I was already
wondering how the installer could recover from such a situation.

But even if the web installer is intentionally broken Microsoft as part of
their standard software obsolescence procedure technically there is still a bug
with Wine. The 404 error page should not be persisted ('text/html' document)
which gets subsequently passed as actual payload to signature validation.

Anyway, if there is no interest or no other (web) installer/app that breaks
because of this misbehavior then let it be.
