OK - in wine version 7.2 (staging) the crash before the splash page is
displayed no longer happens.

However, it crashes almost immediately after, just as the audio intro is
played.

I was able to work around that by removing pipewire-pulseaudio and installing
pulseaudio.

So with that one workaround, Playground Sessions works with WINE again.

I don't know what was broken or who fixed it (if anyone).  Thanks to all that
added comments to this issue.
