I also experience this with PDF-Xchange Editor Plus version 9.3 on 
openSUSE Leap 15.3
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
Qt Version: 5.12.7
Kernel Version: 5.3.18-150300.59.68-default.
It's sufficiently annoying that I fall back to an older version of the
PDF-Xchange program which doesn't exhibit this characteristic.  A trial version
of PDF-Xchange can be downloaded from
https://www.tracker-software.com/product/downloads in case anyone wants to
check for themselves.
