That would work too. But it's just a general pain in the ass even when
you know exactly what is going on anyway, it's not like Wine is already
too convenient to use or anything.

Can't agree, I'm not seeing the security problem here. 

Unless you subscribe to the belief that too many Win32 programs have
spyware that would be interested in gigs of ELF binaries and config
files (as they would be able to see drives/network mappings under
windows anyway), I don't see what harm it could do.
