deadlock on some X environments

Yes, it does, the programs runs normally with that line
commented out.

XFree86 4.2.0.  Tell me if you are interested in further
logs or whatever.  I will probably submit this code now that
I know the error is elsewhere.  Btw, is something wrong with
my LoadStringA tests?  They pass here...
