Thank you for your offer, much appreciated!

Translations are tricky -- it's nice to have them, but it's
not good if they are not maintained. For this reason, we don't
want to translate stuff that's in-flux -- it's just wasted time
and effort.

The README is indeed a good start. It's been fairly stable lately,
and we don't plan any major overhauls for it. The other documentation
(our various Guides) are changing significantly at this time, so
are not good candidates for translation.

In other words, let's start with a documentation/README.de, and
we'll take it from there.
