"Wine is not an emulator"...

Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary:

emulator (n) (computing)
  A device or piece of software that enable a program
  or an item of equipment intended for one type of
  computer to be used with exactly the same results
  with another type of computer.
=================================

According to that definition, Wine IS an emulator (as long as you
consider "Windows PC" and "Linux PC" two different types of
"computers").
