This problem has been around for quite a while (since at least August 2004)
I think it would be a good idea to apply this patch as well. This 
problem has been around for quite a while (since at least August 2004). 
It does what it is supposed to do and does not cause regressions. If it 
were up to me it would have been applied a while ago. However it is not 
up to me  It is up to Alexandre.

Alexandre is there a reason that this patch is not acceptable for you?
