DirectX 10 start as a SoC project?

Well if I am able to use my laptop, it has the ATI XPress 200M. DX9
compatible chip. But I have been rather dissappointed with the ATI
driver in linux. Maybe I should verify if it works now. Do you think
this may be a good enough?
