What I can tell from my personal experience is that "the correct procedure"
currently is to use another distro or wait until Ubuntu team would finally
finish the multilib transition they had been trying to accomplish before 12.10
release. Alternative way is to use a number of hacks but the result still
won't be excellent. For details about how to took a trip over that bumpy road
take a look into a message from Eric Pouech that had been forwarded to
wine-devel several days ago.
