It would have been fine if 1.8 would have seen the light in summer
2014 as initially planned. That would have been 1 year after 1.6.

But now it is 1 year after the 1.6.2 (last) stable release and that is
broken on any modern system with gcc >= 4.9

Version 1.8 is not even in sight as the two major features Android and
CSMT are still far away. At least for the CSMT there is publicly
available code (thanks Stefan!) but for Android we're in the dark.

So yeah, there is a reason why I added "Wine Stable Considered
Harmful" as a topic for the next WineConf...
