RPC Merge (E_PL0)

This duplicates D_PL0 (the server stuff).  Don't apply both.  
Not a "hint" to apply, just keeping my tree up-to-date against cvs.
Applies with some fuzz.

From Jürgen Schmied's RPC patches.
Minor changes may exist between this and the original 
patch but it's intended to be basically the same stuff.
