[resend][rediff] gdi: Duplicate extent value for the second byte of a DBCS char

Hi,

This is a rediff of the second patch of my last 2 patch series.
It was somehow not accepted into the cvs.

The thing is, the first patch exposes a separate but related issue,
which this patch tries to address. So comment welcome on how this
patch can be improved. Because we really need to fix it, or else
people are going to see some kind of regression.
