[AppDB] application: Add support for filtering by app category

With this change, it should be acceptable to merge 'browste apps [by 
category]', 'browse newest apps' and 'browse by rating'.  This will follow in 
another patch.

I'm not sure what is the best behaviour of filtering by category.  The 
approach used in this patch is that selecting a category will select only 
apps in that category and not subcategories.
So selecting 'games' will only list a few pages, while 'strategy games' will 
list more.

This is the current behaviour in 'browse apps'.  Does anyone think it should 
be changed?
