fix for exception in dsurface.c in the test suites

this patch fixes an exception which occurs in the dsurface.c test 
application.
This exception occurs because the surface structure initalization does 
not occur when an error is returned in
the surface allocation code. This catches the return.. skips the test 
and continues..
