I think that wasn't even a fatal error.  You might miss some deadkeys
for nls.  There are a few keyboard layouts defined now:
[Wine-20010326]$ grep -c '{.*keyboard layout' windows/x11drv/keyboard.c
33

Maybe yours is one of them.
