I don't know anything about your OS, but I would think it's indeed
a FreeBsd difference vs Linux. I don't think X and Kde are related.
If there is no (more) FreeBsd ppl following Wine, what you can do
is to try an older version - say 6 months - of Wine (www.winehq.com),
if it works it's a Wine change and (probably) a Wine problem. If not,
it's probably a Bsd problem.
