maybe I am off topic here, but I also have problems with my Italian
keyboard. I can use all the special keys (dead-keys) as usual in all
apps (gvim, Communicator) except those running through wine.

For example I can type only "à ç @ è # ° [ ] ù § ^ ' ?"
