I have also tried the following: Set up IPX on a native Win98 machine w/ network address set to 12345678 and all the other things specified on the website, then copying it (via SMB) over to the Linux box. I'm running Starcraft as a regular user (/raid/win98 is root.root 0777). Same result: Starcraft works OK, but not LAN games.
