Right.  If you have installed Wine from mandrake 7.2, and wine --version
answers "Wine release 20000326"
maybe try "rm /usr/local/bin/wine", or try

/usr/X11R6/bin/wine --version

2 different versions of wine installed in different directories will
almost certainly interfere with each other.
