I found this myself in the news (if it helps anyone with the same problem:

Issue #1
/opt/wine/bin/winedbg is a broken symbolic link (points to wine,
should point to wine.bin?)

Issue #2
/opt/wine/bin/winelauncher has the line
prefix=/var/tmp/codeweavers-wine-20010112-root/opt/wine
when it should probably say
prefix=/opt/wine

If i use 'winelauncher <prog>' instead of 'wine <prog>' it seems to work!
Only, in my previous wine installations (not codeweavers) 'wine' was the
right command, further winelauncher is not in the default path, it's
only in '/opt/wine/bin'

why does 'wine <prog>' still not work?
