i thought about this for @home purposes...
what i need would be:

- a tool to create images (dd) on a bootable floppy
- compress them on the fly
- have a "image-server (nfs/samba ??)" running
- send the images via lan

in case of rebuilding a system:
- a bootable floppy
- a tool to fetch the image from the server
- to copy it back, eeven set up partiotions and give them a bootflag

norton does even a little bit mor:
change the ip-adresses in the images
set the nt/w2k security ident
that would also nice to have...

do you think that´ll work... any sugestions what/how to set up beyond the
"man dd"-rtfm ? :-)
