DirectX problems

Hi,

Maybe you've talked about this many times before, but i've got a problem with 
DirectX.
When i try to run any application that uses DirectX it just tells me that i 
don't have it installed on my system. The fact is that i do have it 
installed, and works fine in Windows ME, maybe the version is too recent? i'm 
using DirectX 7.
My system is:
Linux Redhat 6.2, Windows ME, DirectX 7, Wine 1.0 preview 3 from codeweavers, 
and a Pentium II @ 350 Mhz.
