excel 2000

hi

first i ve started excel and it works so far. then i want to open and xls 
-file and it always says "no permission to acces directory xyz" and xyz is 
the directory where the file is situated. i ve also changed the permissions 
so everybody can write and read the directory and the file.

has anyone an idea.

by the way the game "star trek away team" works fine with wine ( sound too)
