Running wine

I haven't played with Mandrake 8.1 with wine, but there is one thing I suggest.
Are you using a pre-compiled Wine package? If so, I strongly recommend
recompiling Wine from scratch using one of the tarballs. At least one of the
patches Mandrake uses has a profound effect on the operation of Wine. I have
both vanilla 2.2.19 (self-compiled) and 2.2.19-4.1mdk on this machine - the
version of wine I compiled myself only works with the vanilla 2.2.19 kernel -
Lotus Notes demonstrates the problem best...

Whether this is still a problem with 2.4.x is another matter.
