x-plane, dsound, directx 8

After seeing the post about X-Plane on slashdot I thought I would give it a 
try using wine under linux.  Unfortunately I get this error when I run it:

err:win32:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for DSOUND.dll.11 imported 
from C:\Program Files\X-System 604\X-Plane 604.exe, setting to 0xdeadbeef

I have a feeling this has to do with X-Plane requiring DirectX 8 and wine 
not yet supporting DirectX 8.

Is there a solution to this problem.
