Current CVS will not run Halflife

After updating my Wine from CVS (which is something I do about once a
week), it stopped running Halflife.. it instead displays:
err: ntdll: RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x4024a080 "loader.c:
loader_section" wait timed out in thread 000a, blocked by 0009 retrying
(60 secs)
