winspool.drv problem/ max qda

$ wine.bin -v
Wine 20020904

(debian testing)

i've had more success with  the maxqda software using the crossover
plugin version of wine -

$ ~/crossover/bin/wine.sh -v
Wine release 20020122

I managed to install the software the it starts up the software
ok but then the maxqda gui locks up. which makes me think  maxqda might
not work with wine anyway. which is a shame cos i could linux-ise a phd
student's nt workstation if it worked, which is always satisfying.
